They are known for their festive atmosphere, where community members come together to share in the joy and spirit of the season.
Attending a kermés is a fantastic way to connect with the local community and experience our diverse culture. The food is a major draw, with traditional dishes like tacos, enchiladas, tamales, and more. Each church puts its unique spin on these classics, offering flavors that you won’t find anywhere else. Besides the food, kermeses often feature games and activities for kids, ensuring that there’s fun for the whole family.
Live entertainment is another highlight of the bazaars. Local bands, folklorico dancers, and mariachi groups provide a lively backdrop to the festivities. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy the rich musical heritage of our region. Additionally, most of the bazaars include raffles and silent auctions, offering a chance to win great prizes while supporting a good cause.
One of the best things about kermes season is the sense of community it fosters. These events bring together people of all ages and backgrounds, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
